Summer.

I honest to goodness think that time slows down during summer. It’s like the hands on the clock decide to slack off and slow down because they realize that’s what everyone else is doing.. Everyone loses track of time, and the days all seem to run together. But nobody minds it, because that’s what summer is for, a rare opportunity of time to lose yourself and just relax, no matter what time of day.

Lazy, no stress, just sipping lemonade, (or mountain dew, either one) soaking up the sun, and reading a good book by the lake, kinda days are what have made up my summer so far, and I’ve loved every slow minute of it.

Life is good.

That awkward moment when you haven’t blogged in forever and you don’t know where to start.

"For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world— our faith."

1 John 5:4

He overcame the world so that he may use his power through us to overcome this world. And in that is victory. Gosh, such awesome wisdom in this verse. so great.

Dear God,

“I pray that You would fill us with hope and joy and expectation that you have the power to put Your hand on us, and grant us the will to do what You command. You have made it plain: We are responsible to do what you tell us to do. But we know that in ourselves we do not have the will to do it. And so we cry with Augustine, “Lord, command what you will, and give what you command.” Leave us not to ourselves. Have mercy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

John Piper may have written those words. But I will be the one saying them to God tonight and every night. This is my prayer for God’s ministry, in Clemson, at Seneca High School, everywhere. His will be done.
